Henry was the much loved son of Lauretta & David APPS of Mascot who was born on 1 May 1922. Henry put up his age by 2 years when he enlisted on 14 Oct 1940. He was just 17½ years old when he went down with HMS Parramatta. RIP

"...S4701, Stoker Henry Arthur Apps, HMAS Cerberus, of Mascot, NSW. Stoker Apps enlisted on 14 October 1940 and later served with HMAS Parramatta II. He was killed in action on 27 November 1941, when HMAS Parramatta II was sunk in the Mediterranean Sea by the German submarine U-559. He was aged 19." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
