Cause of death ~~~Court of Inquiry on 20th Sept 1943, concluded, Private Ashdowne died on 14th Sept 1943, at Oro Bay, Papua New Guinea as a result of crushed larynx, fractured cervical vertebrae and asphyxia, sustained by being crushed under an army vehicle of which he was the driver.
