His parents were Roy Hubert Goldstone BADMAN & Laura Lillian CROSSLEY who married in 1922 (registered in Bathurst, NSW)

His father Roy Hubert BADMAN (SN 816) served during WW1 with the 24th Infantry Battalion and returned to Australia on 3rd March, 1916
