Son of Cyril Howard Ball and Lily May Ball, of Canterbury, Victoria, Australia.
JACK, MY SON, YOU GAVE YOUR LIFE THAT WE MIGHT LIVE
Sgt. Ball and crew were detailed to operate in Lancaster W.4785 against Duisberg on the night of the 8th April, 1943. The aircraft left Base at the apointed time and since then nothing has been heard of either the aircraft or the crew.
It has been reported missing presumably as a result of enemy action.
