Aircraft accident in Scotlan
Advice has been received of the death in an aircraft accident in Scotland of Flying Officer Gordon only son of Mr and Mrs H. G. Bigmore, 25 Johnstone st, Malvern. Flying Officer Bigmore was educated at Tooronga Rd Central School and University HS. He enlisted in the Victorian Scottish Regiment in 1940, and transferred to
the RAAF in 1942.
At the time of his enlistment he was employed at the Scottish Union and National Insurance Co. He quickly gained his wings and commission before leaving Melbourne in March, 1943. He received his promotion to flying officer just before his death.
He was 21.
