Mustang A68-771 of 76 Squadron RAAF was being flown from Palawan to Labuan in Borneo by Flying Officer Richard Buckley Birrell 419578 but did not arrive, no message was received from the pilot and a thorough search of the entire area returned no trace - his body was not recovered and he is commemorated on the Labuan Memorial
