Olaf Ruprecht BOEKENSTEIN was born in Cooks Hill, Newcastle, NSW on 27th July, 1926

He was the only son of James Rupert BOEKENSTEIN & Ethel Alma WILKINS

He enlisted in the RAAF in Sydney on 8th August, 1944 & became a trainee pilot in the No. 11 Elementary Flying Training School at Benalla

Olaf accidentally drowned in the Broken River at Benalla in Victoria whilst swimming with 2 friends - he is buried in the Benalla War Cemetery
