Biography

158 Squadron. Plane was Halifax 11 W7753 near Duisberg, Germany detailed for an operational sortie on Duisberg on the night of 13/14th July 1942.

The aircraft carried 2 x 4,000 lb G.P. bombs, and E.R. 1335.  The time of take-off was 00.05 hours on 14 July 1942.  No signals were received after take-off.  1392 gallons of fuel were carried and this would normally last for 7 to 8 hours.  No rescue action was undertaken.
