Son of Mr. and Mrs. George Edward Burgess, of Forster, New South Wales, Australia; husband of Doreen Burgess, of Hyde Park, Doncaster.
During daylight hours of the 12th March 1945, the aircraft took off at 12.55 hours to carry out a bombing attack on an enemy target at Dortmund. Unfortunatley no further news was received of the fate of the aircraft or nay of the members of the crew.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Burgess received notification from the Air Board this week that their son, Sergeant Pilot George Leonard Burgess was missing in air operations over enemy territory in Europe. The sympathy of all will go out to the family, and join with them in trusting for more reassuring news of their son in the near future.
