Son of George Albert Giblett and Agnes May Burnett, of West Perth; Western Australia; husband of Lilian Doris Burnett, of West Perth.
Captain JFR Burnett was a Dentist with the 5th Australian Light Field Ambulance when he was called up in July 1942 to be attached for dental duty with the AIF. In November 1942 he married but sadly his wife died in September 1943. In May 1945 he was sent to Morotai to serve with the 2/6 Dental Unit. In July 1945 he was in hospital suffering from tinea and blepharitis (a chronic inflammation of the eye) and was to be medically evacuated in December. On 19 December 1945 he was a passenger in RAAF aircraft CIZ which left Ambon for Darwin. The aircraft was not heard of again and his date of death was given as 19 December 1945.
