Family History
Born in Guildford, Western Australia on 19 October 1922 to Cyril Herbert Burns and Annie Lily Ida Kidson. He was the youngest of 3 boys. He needed his mother's permission to enlist as he was underage. He served in Darwin and was injured (shrapnel wounds) when the Japanese bombed Darwin Harbour. He was evacuated to Perth but died from his injuries aged 22 years.
