Flying Officer Lindsay Allan Caldow 409078 RAAF and Flight Sergeant Eric Norris 408265 RAAF of 459 Squadron RAAF were killed when Ventura FP545 was lost in the Mediterranean Sea during a convoy escort flight
Also killed were Warrant Officer Roy RCAF R/108470 and Warrant Officer Walker RCAF R/904210
Their bodies were not recovered and they are commemorated on the Alamein Memorial
