Add my storyBiography contributed by Faithe Jones
Son of James Vernon Campbell and Sarah Rachel Campbell, of Greenslopes, Queensland.
Mr and Mrs J. V. Campbell, Oakley Street, Wandal, Rockhampton, have been advised that their son Lawrence Gordon Campbell, member of the RAAF, lost his life as the result of an aircraft accident at Port Pirie, South Australia, on Sunday last. A native of Rockhampton, he was educated at the Leichhardt Ward State School and the Rockhampton State High School. As a student at the latter school he passed his Senior University examination at the age of 16½. Prior to his enlistment at 18 he was a member of the Commonwealth Bank staff. His many friends in Rockhampton will regret to hear of his untimely end and the deepest sympathy will be extended to his parents in their irreparable loss. He was accorded an RAAF funeral at Port Pirie yesterday.
