Arthur George Jackson CHADWICK-BATES was born in Auckland, New Zealand on 16th August, 1910
His parents were John Jackson CHADWICK-BATES & Aline PARDY who married in England in 1907 (registered in Fulham
He was a Pilot Officer, Rear Gunner in the 460 Squadron of the RAAF and was killed in air operations against Nuremberg Germany on 31st March, 1944 - he is buried in the Hanover War Cemetery
His plane was an Avro Lancester III Serial No. ND361 , Markings AR-R
Arthur was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) for skill & fortitude & devotion to duty whilst flying
