CHESTER, Ivan, Leading Aircraftman, Service Number 429693; Casualty - Aircraft - Anson R-3550; Place - Georgina Satellite Aerodrome, Australia; Date - 21 July 1943
LAC Chester was one of the trainee pilots aboard Avro Anson R-3550 on a training flight in charge of the Pilot Instructor who crashed the aircraft on takeoff at the Georgina Satellite airstrip.
LAC Chester died of injuries received.
LAC Chester had previous military experience in the 2/1st Australian General Hospital and No. 8 Casualty Clearing Station from which he received a discharge to join the R.A.A.F.
