Never Forgotten

I am the son of Neville Chisholm, Raymonds brother who changed his name by deed pol in 1948. Ray was always a much loved member of the family long after his and my fathers death. He was a carpenter at enlistment and was held back in training battalions as a specialist Vickers gunner. His loss at the end of WW2 in the last fe wweeks wa sparticularly bitte, as his brother Ernest wa slost to a road accident in 1940, shortly before embarkation for the Middle east. My father Neville was left as the only son and suffered all his life from guilt at not being a returned man, even after trying to enlist with a forged birth certificate , in 1942, at 16.
I visit Ray's plaque whenever Im in Canberra and hold his service medals, along with thos eof my granfather, Ernest William and my mother Marion Harriet FRost, ex Waaaf.
May their generous and courageous souls rest in peace forever
