Flight Lieutenant Colin Edward Cohen 255205 RAAF was the OIC of Detachment 1 of Number 9 Transportation and Movements Office which landed at Tarakan at H+2.5 (2 ½ hours after the initial invasion force from the Australian Army)
He was struck by shrapnel at H+6 from blasting work being carried out by demolition engineers to clear obstructions that were blocking the approaches to the landing beach
