The details provided are taken from the book "1000 Men at War" the history of the 2nd/16th Infantry Battalion, published 1959, refer to page 85. James was born at Subiaco WA 17th April 1907, and prior to the war he was a boat builder also at Subiaco. He server with the 2nd/16th Inf Bn, rising to the rank of Sergeant, until he was Killed in Action 8th Sept 1942. Rest In Peace. Lest We Forget.
