Flying Officer James Frederick Colthrup 3485 of Number 3 Wireless Air Gunners School (3 WAGS) based at Maryborough was killed when Tiger Moth A17-1 crashed near the Maryborough aerodrome

The instructor SQNLDR G.A. Richmond RAF 34203 was seriously injured in the incident
