Private Thomas Joseph Conway (Service No:W39834) enlisted in the ACMF on 31 December 1941 and served with 28th Infantry Battalion. Private Conway died on 1 March 1943 in Western Australia.
Born in 1910 in Boulder, Kalgoorlie WA, Thomas was the third of six children of Patrick Joseph Conway (b1876 in County Kerry, Ireland) and Johanna Burk (b1881 in Victoria) Patrick and Johanna married in 1889 in Victoria and by the early 1900's were settled in the WA Goldfields where they raised their family and Patrick was a Miner at Boulder. Following his death in 1918, Johanna later remarried.
Thomas worked as a Miner, Mechanic and Shopkeeper in Boulder before his enlistment. He died at Melville and was buried in Boulder WA.
