Sister Marie Eileen Craig 501399 RAAF Nursing Service of Number 2 Medical Air Evacuation Unit was killed in the loss of 38SQN RAAF Dakota A65-61 near Merauke, Dutch NG - the aircraft was returning 18 former POWs to Australia with all on board killed in the crash.
