Son of Harold Gavin and Adele Crisford; husband of Gladys Mary Crisford (from April 1948 was known as Gladys Mary Green).

Plane was Mosquito MM 650 crashed approximatle 2 miles from Kralingen. Eye witness said that the plane was on fire prior to crashing. It had left its home field to proceed air operations on the target of Lutzkendorf 

The plane was part of the 157 Squadron which was in support of the bombers to the target and was to return independantly.
