Murray Bernard CROCKETT was born in Daylesford, Victoria on 3rd March, 1922
His parents were John Paul CROCKETT & Mabel SIMS who married in Victoria in 1907
He enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force in Melbourne on 27th March, 1942 - his last unit was with the 355 Squadron (RAF)
Murray died in a Flying Battle in Thailand on 6th October, 1944 and is buried in the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery
Inscription on his headstone:
"HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR THE COUNTRY HE LOVED"
Three of his brothers also served during WW2
