Flight Sergeant Stanley.W.Cross was a wireless-air gunner on a training flight in Avro Anson W2072 of No.4 Service Flying Training School, when in cloud, the pilot lost control in a steep dive leading to structural wing failure and crashed 3 miles north of the Greenough township.
All four R.A.A.F crewmen were killed.
