DANAHER. — A tribute to the memory of our past secretary and club member, VX31946, Sgt. Clifford Edmond Danaher, executed by Japanese for attempted escape whilst P.O.W. at Tavoy, Burma, 1942. — Inserted by members of the Ascot Vale Congregational Men's Institute.
Sgt. C. E. DANAHER, 24, Ascot Vale (missing), is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Danaher. He served in Malaya, and was last heard from in Jahore on January 5. He was educated at Bank-street State school, Ascot Vale, and at University High School. He was a lithograph artist, employed at Queen City Printers, Willlam-street, city.
