Accident 1915 zulu (0615Hrs) 20/04/43 after taking off on a reconnaissance mission (HUG.46) to Timoeka DNG, when it was involved in a midair collision with Hudson A16-183 some four minutes later.

A16-197 crashed on one of the Crocodile Islands north east of Millingimbi NT.

Crew F/O K E Daniel Serv#402852, F/O J Laws Serv#412979, Sgt W J Gove Serv#401636, Sgt Thomas William Wilson Serv#408899 and Sgt J G Butler Serv#408820 all killed.

Wreck within 600 yards of wreck of A16-183.
