Pilot Officer Norman Arthur Davies 401422 and Pilot Officer Herbert John Fraser 401601 from Headquarters 38 Wing RAF were pilots in Horsa Glider HS114 & DP349 which delivered airborne Royal Engineers to a landing site near Helleland in Norway for Operation FRESHMAN

This was a mission to sabotage German production of heavy water being carried out at a facility at Vermork in Norway (heavy water was a component required for atomic bomb production)
