Howard Rupert DE GRANT was born in Brisbane, Queensland on 2nd February, 1908

His parents were Leslie DE GRANT & Selina Elizabeth BROOKES

He died in from Illness in Thailand on 20th September, 1943 - last Rank & Unit was a Sergeant with the 2nd/3rd Ordnance Stores Company - He was a prisoner of War of the Japanese and held in Camp in Malaya

His headstone reads:

'DEARLY LOVED & SADLY MISSED BY MOTHER, BROTHERS & SISTERS'

Howard is buried in the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery

His brother Leslie Brisbane DE GRANT (SN 2414) served in the Army during WW1 and returned to Australia in 1919 - he also served during WW2 (SN Q124557) as a Captain in the Army with the 1st Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps
