B17 Flying Fortress FL454 of 206SQN RAF was taking off for an anti-submarine sweep when another aircraft taxied onto the runway directly in its path.  To avoid a collision the pilot of FL454 lifted the aircraft violently off the ground without adequate take-off speed.   It climbed for a short distance but stalled and crashed into the sea off the Isle of Benbecula in the Hebrides Islands, Scotland
