Add my storyBiography contributed by Catherine McGuckin
Jack was the eldest child of Charles Louis Dolgner from Rolleston, Queensland and Kate Devanney (born in Northwich, England). He had two younger sisters Nancy Catherine (born in 1930 in Mungindi) and Patricia Clara (born in 1935 in Thallon).
Jack was killed in Libya on his 21st brithday. He was running a telephone wire in the trenches when he was killed by a grenade. He was named after his uncle John Frederick Dolgner who was killed in WW1 aged 21.
Jack wrote home every week during his war service and his letters show that he dearly loved his parents and younger sisters.
