Son of Thomas Victor and Florence Dolphin of Fairfield, NSW

 

RAAF Wirraway aircraft A20-5 crashed as it was about to land at Darwin Aerodrome.  It was one of five new aircraft being delivered to Number 12 Squadron from Laverton, with FLGOFF Arnold Victor Dolphin as the pilot and CPL Harold William Johnson 1727 as his Observer

These were the first RAAF casualties of WW2 (NB: FLGOFF Dolphin had not been allocated a Service Number)
