Son of William John and Alice Gertrude DOYLE nee SMITH; husband of Gwendoline Jessie DOYLE nee GREGORY, of Mosman, New South Wales, Australia.
HIS DUTY UNSELFISHLY AND NOBLY DONE ALWAYS LOVED AND REMEMBERED
Married Alma Sadie Ansley but divorced in 1935
Taken prisoner of war at Java 7/3/1942.
Survived by his wife, son and daughter of first marriage, parents, sister Mrs Alison Chapman and brother Maxwell.
DOYLE.-September 23, 1943, died of illness whilst prisoner of war, Thai camp, Thailand, Sgt. Richard William Doyle (Rex), dearly loved husband of Gwen and loving second son of Alice and William Doyle, and beloved brother of Arthur (P.O. Yarra, missing), Alison (Mrs. Chapman), Max (Lieut., A.I.F.). Duty nobly done.
