Peter Magnas Thompson was a soldier that went to fight for the Anzacs in Gallipoli. Peter was born in Svendborg, Denmark. His mother's name was Anna Thompson. He enlisted in the army on February the 7th 1915, Peter was twenty-four- and one month years old when he applied for the army. He embarked on a ship to Gallipoli around the 15th of February 1915. He was posted as a private for his unit. After four months of fighting in the war, he was shot by a bullet on his left shoulder. After being shot he was admitted to hospital in Cairo, Egypt on the 4th of December 1915. Peter stayed in the hospital for six months before coming back to Australia on the 3rd of June 1916. He was officially discharged from the army on the 20th of July 1916 due to being medically unfit to continue fighting the war. After returning from Gallipoli he took up residence in Renmark, South Australia. He applied for the war pension after being discharged from the army on the 20th of July 1916.
