Peter Budge DUNGEY was born on 12th June, 1909 in Beria, Western Australia to John Edward Fox DUNGEY and Dora Shirley BUDGE who had married in the Methodist Church in Gladstone, South Australia on 20th August, 1907

He was an Acting Sergeant with the 2/16th Australian Infantry Battalion and was Killed in Action on 7th July, 1941 in Syria when he volunteered to cut barbed wire defences with two other members of his unit at the Damour River in Syria

Peter is buried in Beirut War Cemetery and his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Roll of Honour in South Perth, Western Australia
