His parents were David DUNSMORE & Amy Sarah SALWAY
He married Laura STEWART in Bombala in 1921

His son Ian David DUNSMORE (SN NX138186) also served during WW2 and was a Lieutenant in the 2/5 Field Company Royal Australian Engineers & was discharged on 13th January, 1947
