William John de Ranulph Glanville EDWARDS was born in Peppermint Grove, Cottesloe, Western Australia on 23rd January, 1903

His parents were Horace James Gomez EDWARDS & Rose Amelia BYRNE who married in Perth, WA in 1894

He married Irene Doris BRITNALL in Perth in 1926

He enlisted in Perth on 30th May, 1940 and served with the 2nd/7th Field Regiment of the Royal Australian Artillery

William was Killed in Action in Egypt on 26th Auust, 1942 and is buried in the El Alamein War Cemetery

Inscription reads:  "A BRAVE & GALLANT SOLDIER"

1. Bevil Bernard James EDWARDS (SN 5350) he was Killed in Action in France on 2nd March, 1917

2. Gomez George Herbert EDWARDS (SN 1256) returned to Australia in 1917
