He was 33 and the son of Donald William and Isabella Elder; husband of Catherine Elizabeth Elder, of Mount Hawthorn, Western Australia.
The war cemetery lies at the foot of the hills which separate the Union of Myanmar from Thailand.
Honoured on the Reay War Memorial in Scotland.
