The details provided are taken from the book "1000 Men at War" the history of the 2nd/16th Infantry Battalion, published 1959, refer page 73. William was born at Woolwick Vic 13th July 1911. Prior to the war he was a bookmaker of Inglewood WA plus he had served in the Militia. He enlisted in the AIF and served in the 2nd/16th Inf Bn. Unfortunately, he was Killed In Action 13th June 1941. Rest In Peace. Lest We Forget.
