Flight Sergeant Frank Burton Elliott 419900 was killed when Mustang FX989 of 122 Squadron RAF crashed near Anseghem (Anzegem), Belgium
The aircraft took off from RAF Andrews Field in Braintree, Essex as part of a Wing Fighter Group (Rodeo 413) to sweep the Munster / Leipzig region. Owing to adverse weather conditions the mission was abandoned near Munster. After leaving the main formation FX989 exploded in mid-air and the wreckage was scattered over the Anzegem area
