Douglas Allan Endean enlisted in the RAAF in January 1923 and served until October 1937 - reaching the rank of Flight Sergeant with service number 330

He requested discharge in September 1937 to take up a position with the British Colonial Service in the Federated Malay States

He enlisted in the Australian Army in January 1943 and was discharged on 4 July 1945 with the rank of Staff Sergeant

He passed away due to illness in September 1946 while in Malaya - his CWGC entry shows him as being in the RAAF at time of death - Flight Sergeant & service number 330
