Australian Army Pay Corps - Pay Units, attached to 2nd/4th Anti-Tank Regiment.
Sergeant - Andrew James Ferguson, was (1) of over 2000 Allied - Prisoners of War (POW'S), held in North Borneo, Indonesia; having been transferred there from Singapore (after the fall of Singapore), as apart of 'B Force'. The 1494 POW'S that made up 'B Force', on the 7th July 1942, were transported from (Changi POW Camp) which is now the location of Singapore International Airport. POW'S (1494) of 'B Force', were on board and transported by a Japanese transport ship "Ubi Maru", to Sandakan Harbour, 18th July 1942.
Sergeant - Andrew James Ferguson, aged 38, died as a 'Prisoner of War' of the Japanese on the 30th July 1945, Borneo, Indonesia. Andrew was the son of Andrew & Amelia Ferguson of Geelong West, Victoria, Australia.
Sergeant - Andrew James Ferguson, S-No: VX43593, was commemorated on June 1953, at the Labuan Memorial; Panel 30. Labuan Memorial is within [Labuan War Cemetery], which apart of the "Labuan Federal Territory" on the Island of Labuan, Malaysia. (Just off the coast of Brunei, in "Brunei Bay").
