Son of Harry and Lilian Francis Fox of Torwood, Queensland
At the time of enlistment he was a Bank Clerk with the National Australia Bank, Brisbane
School subjects passed: Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometery, Physics, English, History, Geography but failed French
Sports played were: Cycling, Swimming, Rifle shooting and Tennis
Plane was Wellington MK 1V DV542 lost at Luga, Malta. At about 2.30am the plane over shot the Luga aerodrome and attempted to go around again but crashed
Advice has been received that Sgt. Harry D. Fox, 19, only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Fox, Agnes Street, Torwood, lost his life in air operations near Malta on August 13. He enlisted with the RAAF in November, 1940, trained in Australia as a wireless air gunner, and was then posted for duty with the Air Force in England, taking part in heavy raids over Germany. Before his enlistment he was employed by the National Bank of Australasia.
