Son of Blanche Furness, of Paddington, New South Wales, Australia.

An Australian member of the crew of the British destroyer Juno, which was sunk during the German invasion of Crete, is reported Kiuea in action in a recent naval casualty list.
He was Ordinary-Seaman Ronald Robert Furness. 24, single, of Paddington.

Ordinary-Seaman Furness enlisted in anti-submarine unit of RA.N. in October, 1940. In December 1940, was sent to Alexandria; joined Mediterranean Fleet and before enlisting was employed at the Education Department of Mitchell Library.  His brother William is on active service in R.A.N.
