Studley Manston GAHAN was born in Ivanhoe, Victoria on 8th December, 1913

His parents were Walter Ernest GAHAN & Alice Miriam ROURKE

He married Kathleen (Kitty) Elsie MITCHELL in the Melbourne Grammar School Chapel on 21st April, 1938

He first enlisted in the Army on 16th December, 1936 and progressed through the ranks to Captain

He was a Prisoner of War and was Killed in Action in Libya on 17th May, 1941 - no known grave

His brother Neil John GAHAN (SN VX39021) was a Captain in the 2nd/29th Infantry Battalion and also a Prisoner of War - he was discharged on 22nd January, 1946
