Son of Charles Augustine and Frances Galvin, of East Malvern, Victoria, Australia.
DIED WHILE POW
Sgt Edward Galvin, third son of Mr and Mrs Charles Galvin, of 7 Manning rd, East Malvern, died on October 13, 1943, while a prisoner of war in Japanese hands. He, with his youngest brother, Montague, were captured when Singapore fell. Although no official notification has been received concerning Montague, his release from Prison camp
has been announced by wireless and through the Press. Sgt Edward Galvin was educated at Xavier College and before his enlistment in 1940 was attached to the staff of Kayser knitting mills.
