Stanley John Gardiner, a returned soldier of both wars, died last night on the launch Marie Therese, anchored in the harbour. Deceased was a native of Tamworth, and is survived by a wife, who lives in Brisbane. He had been in partnership with Mr. S. A. Green, working, the boat from Mackay, and had intended settling on one of the islands adjacent to the coast. Deceased had been in indifferent health for some time.
