THE LATE PRIVATE A. J. SIMONS.

THE LATE PRIVATE A. J. SIMONS.
Information has been received by Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Simons, of Gibson-street,
Bowden, that their youngest son, Private A. J. Simons, previously reported missing, was killed in action on February 28. Private Simons left Australia on May 31, 1915, took part in the operations on Gallipoli, where he landed on his twenty-first birthday, and was there about six weeks, when he was sent to the Malta Hospital suffering from bomb wounds. Later he proceeded to France with his battalion, and was in the firing-line till he met his death. He spent his twenty-second birthday in the trenches.
He was a member of the Young Men's Bible Class at the Bowden-on-the-Hill Baptist Mission and was of a happy disposition.
