Manchester L7322 of 207SQN RAF was part of a bombing mission against German shipping at the port of Brest, including the German Navy Kriegsmarine capital ships (battleship or battlecruiser) Scharnhorst and Gneisenau

After completing the bombing run the aircraft crashed into the North Sea off the French coast near Crozon, Finistere, France with all crew killed:
