The details provided are taken from the book "1000 Men at War" the history of the 2nd/16th Infantry Battalion, published 1959, refer to page 222. Douglas was born 30th March 1919, and prior to the war the was a labourer of Bunbury WA, and also served in the Militia with the 44th Battalion. He enlisted into the AIF and served with the 2nd/16th Inf Bn and rose to the rank of Lance Corporal. Unfortunately, he died of injuries incurred in a training accident 11th Nov 1944. Rest In Peace.
