Son of Hector Albert and Ellen Boronia Haslam, of Stawell.
Colin enjoyed the sports of Tennis, Football, Swimming and Cricket.
Colin was killed in a crash whilst landing in Gippsland Vic. on 8th December 1944. The Aircraft dropped out of control from about 400 feet 4 miles N.W. of Barinsdale Aerodrome.
Flight Sergeant Haslam was a fine man and a courageous airman, who was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. His untimely death is a very great loss to the Service and even greater loss to his friends and collegues. His friendly spirit, and happy good nature, as well as his outstanding courage had endeared him to all of us. He died as he lived, a very gallant gentleman.
